Hi! My name is Maxwell Hollis. I am a South Jersey–based, multi-hyphenated artist dedicated to telling stories that challenge, connect, and inspire. I’m currently pursuing my B.A. in Theatre Studies with a concentration in Directing at Montclair State University, where I continue to explore how performance and design intersect to create powerful, rich experiences.
My work spans across performance, directing, and design, reflecting my deep curiosity for every facet of theatre-making. On stage, I’ve taken on a wide range of roles from Andrew Carnes in "Oklahoma" to Bernard in "The Boys in the Band." Off stage, I’ve worked as a stage manager, assistant director, and lighting designer for both university and regional productions. These experiences have taught me how collaboration and storytelling thrive through versatility and empathy.
Whether I’m performing under the lights or shaping a story behind the scenes, I approach every project with curiosity, collaboration, and care. My goal is to use theatre as a space for truth-telling and transformation, creating work that welcomes audiences to see themselves reflected on stage.
